Image Optimization

What should I know?

Optily's optimization uses a smart lossy compression technique that will significantly reduce the file size of your WebP, JPEG, JPG & PNG files, while maintaining their quality. This can result in optimization of up to 80%, helping your images load faster and perform better.

Conversion to WebP

Optily also provides you with the option to convert all your JPEG, JPG & PNG images to the WebP format. This is a modern image format that provides superior lossless and lossy compression for images on the web.

What should I know?

WebP generally has better compression than JPEG, PNG and GIF and is designed to supersede them. It's rapidly growing in popularity, but there may be some negatives which you should consider before conversion.

Mainly, some older devices and browsers may not support this image format, and saving images from your site may be more difficult for users, and will often require them to use an additional convertor.
